Processes and Capabilities
We currently operate a number of highly capable wax injection machines that can inject both at the side and bottom. All our machines are fully temperature controlled to assist with process stability and process capability.
Post injection we have filmless digital X-ray capabilities for detecting internal pattern defects on cored parts and panametric ultrasonic equipment for wall thickness measurement.
We work closely with our customers to develop the right raw material for the process and then produce an initial core to fit the wax pattern die. We then produce the wax injection tool including reformers and setters. Once the wax component has been produced we use CMM measurement and testing to ensure your product has been produced to your exact standard. We also use X-ray and ultrasonic inspection to ensure the highest quality.
Our production capabilities include the manufacture of highly complex wax patterns, chills and runner systems, as well as wax engraving and barcode labelling of the wax patterns and runner systems.
Our highly trained engineers will utilise CMM, X-ray and Ultrasonic methods to inspect the pattern to ensure your product is manufactured to the highest standard.
Our organisation is always trying to find new innovative ways of developing and finishing our products and we have recently developed a new system of urea impregnation to ensure your product is perfect.
Urea is sold commercially as a fertiliser. Its use as a core impregnation is a well tried method. The urea is heated to 165°C and it changes state from solid to liquid. The cores are submersed in the liquid urea for a period of 3 minutes for an average size core. Once removed from the urea the excess must be wiped from the surface before it hardens and cools. The urea sits between the grains of the ceramic on the surface layer of the core but does not penetrate to the centre of the core. After impregnation the core is stronger, approx. 4 times stronger than an unimpregnated core when subjected to a 3 point bend test to destruction.
After impregnation the core is very sensitive to moisture and crystals can form if subjected to moisture.

All wax components that we manufacture can be delivered in temperature controlled transportation ensuring your product arrives in perfect condition.
