Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)

Stage 1
Moulds are incorporated into the kiln where they are coated and shape the CVD material

Stage 2
The chamber is sealed and evacuated and heated up

Stage 3
At the correct temperature, a mixture of gases are fed into the chamber and react and deposit onto the surface of the ‘moulds’

Stage 4
The gases continue to be fed to build up the correct thickness of material

Stage 5
Gases finally stop flowing and the chamber is cooled to ambient temperature
