Glass Sealing Preforms
Glass pre-forms are used in high volume production of hermetic glass-to-metal seals where preformed frames, multi-hole parts and rings permit the introduction of a finite amount of sealing glass into the automatic seal process.
MTC GBC Glass Pre-Forms
MTC GBC glass pre-forms are used in high volume production of hermetic glass-to-metal seals where preformed frames, multi-hole parts and rings permit the introduction of a finite amount of sealing glass into the automatic seal process.
Finished seals are used, typically, in hermetic packages for relays, fuses, fibre optic connectors, and integrated circuit (IC) packages.
Technical glass for matched seals to ASTM F15-type metal, alumina stepped seals, and compression seals are available in a range of custom-formulated compositions.
Over 300 glass compositions are available from GBC.
Glass Pre-Form Properties
Thermal expansions are available over a range from 32 to 130 x 10-7 in/in/ºC.
Stringent batch controls provide the highest degree of dependability.
The preformed frames, rings, and solids introduce a finite amount of sealing glass, which can be shaker-loaded into sealing fixtures.
Research and development is continuing to provide a wide range of expansion coefficients in low temperature sealing glasses.
These products are manufactured in our MTC GBC Materials Division, PA, USA location.
