Braze Alloys
The Wesgo Metals business of Morgan Technical Ceramics manufactures and supplies high-purity, low vapour pressure brazing alloys in various forms. Precious and non-precious alloys are available in atomized powder, discs, evaporation slugs, extrudable paste, FlexibrazeTM, preforms, ribbon, rings, sheet, washers, and wire.
Precious Alloy Filler Materials
The extensive range of high purity, low vapor pressure Precious Brazing Filler Metals is derived from Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium based materials and exceeds the most stringent requirements imposed by the Power Tube, Aerospace, Semiconductor, Medical, Electronic and Vacuum industries in which they serve.
Various forms are available, including sheet, wire, paste, powder and preforms.

Non-Precious Alloy Filler Materials
A range of non-precious metals for a variety of brazing applications between 500°C and 1200°C are offered. Many of these alloys can be brazed under vacuum, in an inert atmosphere or in air with a flux.
Typical applications include tooling for mining and heavy industry equipment.
Foil, wire and powder alloys are available in the following:
* Cu and Cu alloys (CuNi)
* Ni and Ni Alloys (Monel, Alumel)
* NiFe and NiFeCo alloys (Kovar)
* Mo, Ni, W, Ta, Pt, Ti
* 400 Series SST (410, 430)
* 300 Series SST (304, 316, 321)
* Inconels
Active Braze Alloys
Active Brazing Alloys (ABATM) provide a single-step approach for joining ceramics to metals by eliminating the need for prior metallization of the ceramic surface, as the active components promote wetting on the ceramic surface.
One-step brazing with ABA® replaces metallizing, firing and electroplating, offering savings in time and cost. ABA®’s are available in Gold, Silver, Titanium and Copper based materials and offer highly reliable hermetic seals between ceramic and metal for both oxide and non-oxide ceramics.
Available alloy forms include foil, wire and paste.

Melt-Spun Foil
Melt-Spun Foil is made by rapid solidification, a process that enables the manufacture of amorphous metals which can not be manufactured by conventional cold or hot rolling techniques. Melt-Spun Foil preforms are commonly used to braze heat exchanger assemblies, to assemble and repair compressor vanes, stators, and hush kits for aero engines and to produce cutting surfaces by brazing diamond compounds to tungsten carbide.
Rapid solidification produces high purity foil that provides flexible application, consistent wetting and melting behaviour and structural stability over a wide range of temperatures. Wesgo’s rapidly solidified foil is available in strip and as preforms. Widths up to 250mm (10 in) are available depending on the alloy and a typical thickness of 0.05mm (0.002 in). A variety of compositions are available
High Strength Alloys
Alloys such as Nicuman®-23 and Nicuman®-37 are manufactured in foil, wire, and preforms.
These alloys possess high shear strength, making them suitable for brazing of tungsten-carbide tool bits for mining and oil-drilling tools.
Other applications include automotive and vacuum devices.
Pre-Sintered Pre-Forms (PSP)
MTC Wesgo-PSP™ products are a sintered blend of brazing and superalloy powders available in various shapes and compositions.
Many OEMs and repair facilities depend on Wesgo-PSP™ to rebuild the contours of turbine blades and vanes.
Wesgo-PSP™ provides selective build-up of the part, saving time, enhancing cost-effectiveness and avoiding the distortion associated with welding.
Stopyt
MTC Wesgo Metals’ Stopyt® is a braze inhibitor comprised of a ceramic powder suspended in an organic liquid. The application of Stopyt® to a metal surface by brushing, spraying, or dipping, prevents the unwanted flow of molten brazing alloys. Stopyt® is available in Yittria, Alumina, or Glycerol-based suspensions and pastes. Stopyt® is completely inert and will not decompose over time.
