Hard PZT

High power or "hard" ceramics can withstand high levels of electrical excitation and mechanical stress. These materials are suited for high voltage or high power generators and transducers.

400 Series

This material range is ideally suited for ultrasonic cleaning, sonar, and other high power acoustic radiation applications. These materials are designated as PZT400 series type materials and are capable of producing large mechanical drive amplitudes while maintaining low mechanical and dielectric losses. In addition, it can be used under both constant and repetitive conditions. Within this group of materials, Morgan Advanced Materials offer a complete range of six PZT400 series material types with a variety of permittivity values, coupling, power handling and actuation properties.

800 Series

This material range is used in high power applications, even though its piezoelectric activity level is slightly lower than PZT400 series types. With an extremely high mechanical quality factor and extremely low loss factor, PZT800 series materials have the ultimate power handling capability. Within this group of materials , Morgan Advanced Materials offer a complete range of four PZT800 series material types with a variety of permittivity values, coupling, power handling and actuation properties.

Custom Materials

We also offer high density (HD) materials in this series which are ideal for use in medical sensors and low power medical devices, including sensors for blood pressure, auditory sounds, vascular flow and medical imaging. This range of materials has excellent transmit and receive constants (d and g) that result in enhanced sensitivity in any transmit/receive transducer application. It is designed to achieve low porosity and a uniform microstructure as well as increased dielectric constant, low dielectric losses and improved electromechanical coupling coefficients. The higher dielectric permittivity and coupling properties of this material result in higher sensitivity in imaging and other sensing applications.

PZT601 is a material designed for transducer applications requiring reduced dielectric constant, high Qm, low dielectric losses and improved electromechanical coupling coefficients.

Morgan advanced Materials has developed the PZT700 series for a number of property optimisations. The materials have a combination of property stability, good sensitivity and have found use in a variety of sensor applications.
