The Role – Principal Objectives:
PRODUCTION OUTPUT and COMMITMENT for operator’s training and welfare in the Cell.

To plan, co-ordinate and direct all cells resources to achieve production schedules for a complete range of manufactured products or processes in line with product quality standards and targeted levels of productivity.

To develop in conjunction with the team a flexible and responsive workforce capable of meeting on going manufacturing requirements.

To champion greater customer focus based on team working and a culture of continuous improvement.
To promote positive employee relations and maintain a safe working environment.

A product cell is a set of resources (labour and equipment), which under the direction and leadership of the Cell Leader convert materials into complete products ready for shipment to customers.(internal and/or external)

The key metrics are:

    On time delivery to customer
    Output performance of cell
    Continuous improvement of performance
 

The Person – Key Requirements:
Technician apprenticeship with preferably an HNC in engineering
OR
Minimum 2 years experience as a Production leader (or equivalent) within a manufacturing operation and a NVQ level of supervisory management or HNC in relevant discipline.

Experience of managing and motivating teams is essential. Experience in leading quality and other improvement projects through multi-disciplined teams desirable

Must be able to work with detailed information in a logical and organised way.

Proven ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the business.

Self-starter and effective time manager.
