Process Engineer
The Role – Principal Objectives:
We are looking for talented Process Engineers to plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in the Ceramics and Metallized Ceramics Manufacturing organization. You will also support development and process improvement efforts. Communication with operators, supervisors, technicians and other engineers is essential. You must be authorized to work in the U.S. for this position.
The successful candidate will:
• Have a good understanding of materials science and engineering fundamentals as applies to process development and improvement.
• Evaluate, develop, improve, and document manufacturing methods.
• Review process flows and results to maintain and improve product integrity.
• Analyze and plans work force utilization, space requirements, work flow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Involve process development, product design and tooling to create efficient production methods and new process/products.
• Confer with purchasing and vendors to determine material product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Interact with production supervisors to minimize/solve/manufacturing problems on the production floor.
• Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Apply statistical methods and six sigma tools to maximize yields, reduce scrap, and eliminate non-value added steps.
• Maintain record keeping in compliance with government regulations and organizational requirements.
The Person – Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Sciences, Industrial Technology or related discipline. 5 to 10 years of “hands on” engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred with an emphasis in lean manufacturing, machining (manual and/or automated), metallization, materials science and/or ceramics is highly desirable. Must be willing to work off-shift hours, as needed.
