Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and manage an effective engineering team measured against pre-agreed metrics and targets in line with objectives.
- Responsible for all manufacturing related engineering issues.
- To follow and instil high engineering standards.
- To work with Manufacturing Manager in establishing operational (improvement) plan.
- To take personal responsibility for the effective management and completion of capital and major engineering projects.
- To work closely with the Quality Manager to minimise customer returns.
- To be committed to a 5S method of working ensuring a well organised, neat and tidy working environment.
- To define and adhere to Health & Safety, Environmental Statutory and Company Rules & Regulations.
- To establish and manage effective procedures for successful new product introductions and personally lead significant new product introductions.
Previous Experience
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential, where problem solving and process improvement has been a key element of the role.
- Experience of batch and process manufacturing would be desirable with as a minimum experience in component manufacturing.
- Specifying, purchasing and delivery successful capital expenditure projects.
- Experience of coaching engineers and technicians.
Qualifications & skills
- Educated to at least degree standard (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (ideally mechanical engineering), with 2.1 or above if less than 10 years experience in engineering management role.
alternatively
- Minimum HND qualified with 10 years+ track record of engineering management in a relevant manufacturing environment (component manufacturing).
- Some financial acumen.
- In addition to mechanical skills a basic foundation in electrical/electronic engineering.
