Based in Germany, MTC Haldenwanger has a strong, almost 150 year history of manufacturing high quality products that serve the requirements of many industries and market sectors.

The Haldenwanger company was first founded way back in 1865 at a time when Berlin was experiencing an industrial revolution; it was named after its founder Wilhelm Haldenwanger. The business attended its first trade fair in 1882; eleven years after Berlin became the capital of the newly formed German Empire, although it was not until the early twentieth century that they started manufacturing ceramic tubes. Following the Second World War and the almost complete destruction of Berlin the Haldenwanger factory had to be rebuilt.

In the sixties Haldenwanger started to serve the needs of the Ruhr region, a highly industrial area of Germany in which heavy industry, such as steel manufacture was and still is based. In order to provide products to the industries in this region, Haldenwanger opened a sales office and warehouse in Dusseldorf.

From the sixties onwards Haldenwanger expanded throughout Germany opening up locations across the country and during the latter stages of the twentieth century expanded into new continents with a sales office in the USA and a joint venture with Yixing Haldenwanger Fine Ceramics Co. in China. It was not until 1997 that the business became a member of the Morgan Crucible Company.

Since the turn of the twentieth century Haldenwanger have advanced their global presence as well as their product offering. This is particularly true with the research and development of ballistic ceramic components and the achievement of numerous certificates for safety and environmental management within their manufacturing facilities.

After battling adversity MTC Haldenwanger now produces a wide range of products from a remarkable selection of materials. These products include custom tubes and rollers, laboratory porcelain and ballistic armour components.
